Full Moon Lunar Eclipse
Sun in Sagittarius ~ Moon in Gemini 6º
Wed. Nov 28 2012 7:46 AM MST (2:46 PM GMT)

Written by Patricia Liles

We’re all being challenged.  We’re all being supported.  We’re all letting go of the old way.  We’re all reaching toward the new.  All systems reset during the weeks of eclipse energy between the New and the Full Moon alignments of the Sun, Moon, and Earth – our Creator, our Receiver, and our Home making us more malleable and open to the gifts made available to us now.  How willing are you to relax your grip on the baggage you’re carrying and lift your open hands to the sky?  Surrender and Receiving could be the big themes of duality-loving Gemini’s Full Moon energy.  Gemini/Sagittarius carry strong mental focus.  Gemini loves communicating, connecting, informing, and Sagittarius wants expansion of our horizons and beliefs through exposure to foreign influences, religious ideas, and seeking of wisdom.  Teaching and learning are emphasized here.  Mercury rules this Moon chart and has been retrograde for weeks drawing us inward and insisting we follow the mental roots deep into our core and draw up those experiences that expose the basis of the way we think.  Mercury turning direct on Nov. 26 and moving forward will continue to facilitate those mental level transformations that support our global shift.  Look down, is your ticket marked ‘deep intense personal transformation’?  I thought so.  Well, you’re in the right place at the right time.

Scorpio New Moon, Total Solar Eclipse, SuperMoon
Tuesday, November 13, 3:09 PM MST
Sun and Moon in Scorpio 21º

With this New Moon, we enter the last six weeks – the home stretch, of 2012. We enter an eclipse portal with a total solar eclipse now at New Moon and a partial lunar eclipse at Full Moon at the end of the month. As a SuperMoon, every effect is strengthened, as the Moon is closest to the Earth and in exact alignment with the Sun/Moon. The Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun during solar eclipses essentially blocking out the Sun’s electro-magnetic and radiant energies that are vital to life and allowing a momentary empty moment that can clear and reset our energetic bodies. Anything can happen; release takes place. We realign to this present moment. The universe is offering you an empty vehicle to fill with whatever you want to let go of.

Taurus Full Moon
Sun in Scorpio ~ Moon in Taurus 6º
October 29 1:50 PM MDT (October 29 7:50 PM Greenwich Mean Time)

Taurus and Scorpio polarity themes will be activated in our lives with this Full Moon ~ that is our physical resources (money, possessions, security, self worth) and our psychological/sexual resource (the mysterious, unseen, essential, shadowy, and power-infused).  Through the lens of Taurus/Scorpio, we weigh and determine what has real and lasting value in our lives, feel the burden (or commitment) of what we are attached to, and engage in the human dance of death, loss, grief and rebirth.  Not lightweight topics, but we expect nothing less from two of our power signs – fixed, earth Taurus and fixed, water Scorpio.  Power signs, including Leo and Aquarius, are not indecisive about where they are headed.  They tend to know what they want and are out to get it.  Everything else is a distraction.  Maybe a little inflexible at times, but they know what they value.  Take the opportunity given at this time of year to clean up your act on the physical plane.  Clear some space of dead energies – closets, drawers, corners, garages, files, gutters – anywhere you think energy is blocked and can’t flow easily.  Give freely of the old to make way for the new energy.  We are preparing our lives for the influx of higher frequency energies coming with the end of this year and shaping the future.

Aquarius Full Moon
Sun in Leo ~ Moon in Aquarius at 10º
August 1, 2012 at 9:28 PM MDT

Uranus that unpredictable genius, rebel Trickster and Awakener, is brought to the fore because of its rulership of the sign of Aquarius. Richard Tarnas (a personal hero of mine) astutely associates the myth of Prometheus with archetypal Uranus. [1] Prometheus, a Titan immortal, created mankind out of clay according to Hesiod’s sixth century B.C. myth. Pallas Athena assisted Prometheus when she breathed life into the clay and taught Prometheus the many skills including mathematics, astronomy, medicine, navigation, architecture, science, and metallurgy to gift to mankind. To assist civilization, he manages to rebelliously steal fire from Zeus who has denied Man such gifts. Thus, putting at our disposal the qualities of insight, creativity, and questing curiosity that are the gifts of fire consciousness and saving us from a perpetual raw foods diet! Prometheus/Uranus represents the willingness to risk everything to challenge the powers that be, in our case the institutional, omnipotent forces of government, corporations, or any form of tyrannical rule representing denial of gifts/opportunities for all. Let us not forget Prometheus paid a high price for challenging Zeus as he was tied to a rock and an eagle feasted on his liver by day and it regenerated by night in an endless excruciating agony until he was rescued by Hercules eons later. New Moon  Sun and Moon in Gemini 28º
Tuesday, June 19 9:02 AM MDT

Summer Solstice  Wednesday, June 20 5:09 PM MDT

Wouldn’t you know it, those crazy Gemini twins are giving us TWO New Moons in Gemini this year – one at 0º (with the side dish of the solar eclipse last month) and now this one at 28º Gemini the day before the Summer Solstice!  The intensity window continues.  The Sun and Moon will be opposite the Galactic Center at 27º Sagittarius – always a source of increased downloads from the extremely energized black hole at the heart of our galaxy.  Major star systems seem to be called upon recently to interact with the evolution unfolding on our beautiful planet.  The Pleiades was aligned with the solar eclipse, Betelgeuse in Orion is aligned in this New Moon, and Sirius is influencing the Sun on Full Moon July 3.  We are experiencing support and high frequency interactions with our cosmic partners who have always been part of our spiritual inheritance if judged by the myths and legends and temples of our ancient ancestors.  Much care is needed for the body as we feel the adjustments in our sleeping patterns, sensitivities (some are hypersensitive, others sluggish), relationships, outer circumstances, etc.

The coming New Moon/Equinox period of June 19-20 is powerful in its proximity to many other powerful shifts.  The long awaited first exact square of Uranus and Pluto is June 24 at 8º Aries/Capricorn.  This is the first of seven squares with two per year (spring and fall) through 2014 and the last in spring 2015.  Our second Uranus/Pluto square this year is Sept 18.  This square is related to the huge social/political revolution that took place in the mid-60’s when Uranus/Pluto started this cycle when they were conjunct in Virgo.  The Vietnam War, massive race riots, street demonstrations, back-to-the-land movements, Moon landings, the influence of the Black Panther Party, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., The Beatles/Rolling Stones, birth control, long hair, women’s liberation, affirmative action – so many radical shifts away from the hunkered down safety that the previous generation of the 50’s who had born the burden of World War II had been so eager to create.  A major and costly schism was created across dinner tables, as the older generation was unable to cross that invisible line into the Age of Aquarius.  The generations were split and the youth relinquished the counsel of their elders in exchange for sex, drugs and rock n’ roll.  Now, almost 50 years later we come to the natural culmination of any conjunction of two planets – the first opening (or waxing) square.  A crisis point when a reassessment of issues requires definitive action to be taken.

The last time Uranus and Pluto (in Aries/Cancer) were squared was in the Great Depression of 1932, but there is a fundamental difference in the square then and the square now.  The Depression was characterized by a closing (or waning) square – one that suggests a major crisis where the debt of what was left undone in the cycle is due and must be paid immediately.  Our current square holds more redefining, growth energy after we survive the actual challenging experience of this 3-year, 7 squares of Uranus/Pluto period.  Think of the youth leaving the influence of home and family  – innocent, eager and entering the larger world of society to redefine themselves.  Major cultural choices are being made here and now.  The old ways must be relinquished and the unfamiliar innovative and creative must be embraced.  In the 60’s, there were few elders who crossed the line into the new age, but now, our amazingly heart-centered, egalitarian young people are ringed by a conscious group of Boomer/elders who honor and support their vision for the future.  These young people came in wired to create change and embrace diversity on all dimensions.

Uranus/Pluto is the major player in this New Moon cycle, but Jupiter made a shift in sign from Taurus to Gemini on June 11 and will be in that sign for about a year lending its expansive energies to the areas of communication, our mental thought constructs, bringing conscious awareness to the way we think and communicate and showing us how our thoughts mold three dimensional physical reality.

Also, on June 25, the day after the Uranus/Pluto square, Saturn goes direct after four months of encouraging review and weighing of our options and commitments.  Slowly things will begin to move forward until Saturn reaches its original retrograde point October 1 (29º Libra) and then quickly Saturn shifts into Scorpio for a couple of years.  Since late 2009, Saturn exalted in Libra has brought a balance to the impulsive energy of Uranus in Aries and magnified the work that our relationships with self and others were needing.  Saturn in Scorpio has the potential for deep transformative healing and evoking strong truth and revealing that strengthens intimacy.  Focused and disciplined power will be available if not sideswiped by the lower nature reactions of emotional manipulation, possessiveness and obsession.

Venus, too, ends her six-week retrograde period on June 27 that included that visibly significant Transit of Venus strengthening our feminine foundations for this time.  She remains in Gemini the sign of duality, communication, and quick mental workings until early August.  Venus and Jupiter, both in early Gemini this summer, will expand our social pleasures, support new learning opportunities, and generate new ideas right and left.  The spark of inspiration will be crackling the air waves.

June 29 will FINALLY! mark the move of Mars, warrior planet of action and physical expression, into Libra for the usual 6 weeks journey instead of the long period of Mars in Virgo we have been subjected to for the last eight months due to a long retrograde period.  So, best to capitalize on the unimpeded energy as we will have all the personal planets, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter in forward motion for a couple of weeks until Mercury goes retrograde in mid July (along with Uranus – the two mental planets).

Half way through this culturally significant year of 2012, so much is moving and shifting, it’s hard not to go on and on…

I’ve just realized that Mercury is turning retrograde on Election Day here in the USA.  As you can imagine that doesn’t bode well for a smooth, glitch-free election.  Mercury retrograde was also present in the 2000 election that went to the Supreme Court decision for George W. Bush.  More about that later as the election draws nearer.

Honor the Solstice with simple appreciation and blessings for all the gifts of our planet.  Honor the Sun as the Life Giver it is at the powerful point of its yearly peak here in the northern hemisphere.  And you in the southern hemisphere can rejoice in the increase of the warmth, light and energy that the Sun provides.

06/20 Summer Solstice/Sun enters Cancer 5:09 PM MDT/11:09 PM GMT

06/24 Uranus squares Pluto 8º Aries/Capricorn

06/25 Saturn goes direct

06/27 Venus goes direct

07/03 Full Moon in Leo 12:53 PM MDT; Mars enters Libra

07/14 Mercury goes retrograde

Pisces New Moon
Sun and Moon in Pisces ~ 2º
Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 3:35 PM MST/10:35 PM GMT

Pisces New Moon with its upcoming companion Full Moon in Virgo essentially ends the Sun cycle for the year before Vernal Equinox, when the Sun enters the 0º Aries point renewing the cycle again with the rising energies of spring.  Pisces is also ruler of the 12th and last house of the zodiac – culmination – the house that holds mystery and Spirit.  Where does one turn after journeying through all the other facets of material life symbolized by the houses?  To the spiritual aspects of life, to surrender, to union with the divine, to transcendence and compassion.
With Neptune, the major outer planet that rules Pisces, having just moved into its own sign where it will be for the next 14 years, it’s helpful to broaden our understanding of what Pisces represents in the zodiac.  Neptune has a long cycle and hasn’t been in its own sign for 164 years.

With the Moon full in Leo, we have the perfect opportunity to access the portal of our heart. The Sun that is the source of light, heat and energy for Earth is Leo’s powerful ruling planet. Leo is where we naturally exude leadership, power and brilliance. Radiant, vibrant and filled with the confident will of ‘the King of Beasts’ is Leo’s signature. Just as the Sun is the heart of our solar system, so Leo has rulership of the heart, the blood and spine.

Winter Solstice
Wednesday, December 21, 10:30 PM MST

Capricorn New Moon
Saturday, December 24, 11:06 AM MST

Honor, Blessings and Respect to the Winter Solstice.

The point of power that anchors the year – for the Northern hemisphere, the first day of Winter – for the Southern hemisphere – the opposite, the first day of Summer. From the Sun’s maximum at Summer Solstice until now, the Sun has decreased until reaching its point of maximum contraction – the ultimate out breath, the shortest day. The Solstice point, December 21/22, marks the death and rebirth of the Masculine principle of the light. With the dawning of the Solstice, the Sun enters 0º Capricorn, cardinal earth sign, and the Sun again begins its slow ascendancy into fullness on the Summer Solstice.
