The Ascension Goddess

The Ascension Goddess’ journey into form and presence came after over several weeks in 2007. I was teaching a class on Intuitive Painting: A Journey through the Chakras. I had finished teaching the first class of seven, which works with the root or base chakra. We had left over red and black paint, so I encouraged two assistants of mine who stayed after class to grab the extra paint, some boards, and have at it with some expressive painting. Just let come through what wanted to express… Get your mind out of it and play, let the paint and Spirit tell you what to do.
When I got the red and black onto the board, I thought, "Hmmm, you are interesting. I wonder if I will keep you and who you will become." And that was it until two weeks later. I set the board aside with just the red and black paint and forgot about it for a while.
Messages of Love

It was October 2004 when I finally honored my inner calling to more fully use my creative talents and abilities that I have had since birth. With the encouragement and assistance of my dear friend and most talented artisan Shiloh McCloud, I entered into a visualization to help me reconnect with my deep inner calling and creative juices. After only 20 or so minutes in a guided visualization, I entered my unused art studio and began painting again … after a hiatus of more than seven years. Not only did I begin painting again, but I also began using a new medium consisting of more brilliant colors than I had used before. These paints were vibrant, alive, intense pigments beyond what I had ever imagined in the past … including metallic pigments … taking my creativity to a new dimension … literally!
Soul Portraits: A Reflection of Your True Essence

At the core or each of us is an energy and expression of energy that I call Soul Essence. It is alive, intelligent, loving and vast. It is what guides us, what inspires us, what brings forth our passions and beckons us to live the life of our hopes and dreams. This is the energy and sense of multi-dimensionality that I tap into when I paint a Soul Portrait.
As an artist, healer and teacher I began to “hear inwardly” the term “Soul Portrait” in the mid-90s. I knew exactly what it meant, and was a little intimidated by the task I was being asked to do. Yet as time has unfolded I have honored this guidance and now offer this process of “Soul Portraits” to capture the Soul Essence of individuals, couples, families, animals, deceased beings, and now businesses. Each painting acts as an inspiration, a tool for healing and following one’s soul path, giving tangible color and form to the energies and impressions of the Soul Essence. The painting tells a story and communicates the sense of vast love and beauty each recipient possesses. It acts as a gateway or portal to access this vast sense of Divine Self we each are.
The information that floods in comes in washes of color, strokes of energy on canvas, words and images that ask to inspire, to touch the heart and intelligence of each recipient to open to the possibilities of the Self, of the imagination, of the personal hopes and dreams. Read More »
Wisdom and Love

With each subsequent painting comes another fascinating soul story … one filled with love and wisdom. Love floods the room during each session, opening the heart and mind of each being to more of who they are beyond their everyday lives.
Each person receives acknowledgement and affirmations for their soul’s journey. Words flow more readily with each painting—more during the session —and even more still if I will sit at the computer and allow the information to flow through my fingers onto written pages. There is always an intensely beautiful reflection of love for each individual. Read More »
Art to Heal

Art as Healing is my place to tell you a little story about how I have discovered that the process of doing art and the process of viewing positive, healing imagery has the power to heal the mind, body and soul. I have been an artist since I was a child and have studied energy healing and metaphysics for 25 or so years now. I always thought that the artist in me would merge with the healer and metaphysician, but didn’t begin to fully experience of understand that consciously until the past few years when I began to work with an art therapist when dealing with some core issues that had been asked to be healed.
Using my art to heal was a conscious decision and assisted me in bringing imagery from deep within that told the stories of where the rage came from, of where the hurt came from. I became aware of how I was moving energy through all parts of me, releasing energy that caused illness in my body, allowing greater flow of energy for a whole and healthy state of being. Read More »
Painting Other Souls
I began to share my painting with others, talking more and more about my experience and need to paint Soul Portraits of others. Still doing my best to trust my inner guidance, I turned to my dear soul-full friend Melody, telling her about my promptings …
My First Soul Portrait: My Self Portrait

My first soul portrait was actually a process, revealing my own soul portrait … an intuitive self-portrait. Through several different sessions I worked on one particular canvas and laid down a series of patterns, shapes and colors …
not having a particular vision for what was supposed to unfold on the canvas. I just followed my inner voices and promptings. I didn’t even know it was going to be my own soul portrait when I began.
