It is time once again to gather for our New Years Eve Divination and Visioning is a Ceremony and Creative Visioning process. We'll work with the power of ceremony, ritual, curiosity, desire and the assistance of oracle cards, tarot cards, runes, and other divination systems. In the process we'll create our annual Endings for 2023 and Moving into 2024 Divination Map.
Say good-bye to 2023 in ceremonial style. As we let go of what has been, we'll use our divination mapping to bring awareness to the blessings and harvest of 2023, squeezing all the juice out of your experiences so you can get the GOLD out of 2023. We will truly say good-by to no longer serves us, releasing with grace and composting the old.
Focusing on what you truly desire brings all you need to manifest your greatest blessings. We will set our attention and intention on our heart's desires for blessings, vision, and harmony in the new cycle of 2024. We'll call forth the helpers and guides most important to support us moving into greater harmony and expansion. We'll focus the brightest light on possibility and potential beyond anything we can imagine! What is it like to pave a clear path for support, manifestation and joy? We'll use curiosity and creativity to awaken the mystical and feed our potential new life for harmony, peace, joy, and love.
Divination Mapping is a term and process that Katherine learned from her dear soul sister Sage Holloway (author of the Mythical Goddess Tarot and Animal Healing and Vibrational Medicine.) The process incorporates ceremony, creativity, intuition, and a variety of divination tools to integrate the movement from one annual cycle into the next. A map is created for the understanding and integration of 2023, as well as release of all you want to leave in the past. Then a divination/visioning map is created for the invocation of a beautiful and potent 2024. In this process we invoke our guides and allies to assist us in creating positive and potent experiences, as well as to reveal the patterns we are working with, so we can gain support and clarity for the best outcomes in riding the energies at hand.

Join in a ceremonial wisdom circle on the Winter's Solstice, to move from the cycle of Autumn into Winter. This Solstice is a time of harvesting the fruits of our labors, a time to be thankful and celebrate what has come our way over the past cycles, and a time to die to the outer cycle of growth. It will be a time to honor the cyclical movement inward into rest and regeneration. We are here to honor the reflective time of moving inward as the Sun moves farther away from Mother Earth, and there is more darkness in the cycle of Winter.
To begin our time together, you will be energetically cleaned with sacred smudge and flower water. We then gather around the altar in prayer and intention, calling in our allies of the directions, the elementals, our ancestors and spirit helpers.
Bring an offering for the altar that represents your gratitude, abundance, and time of movement within. You can take with you once you return home. Photos of family and loved ones, small statues of dieties you work with, altar cards, stones/crystals, etc.
We will join together in a fire ceremony (weather permitting) to release the past days and months of our last cycles, and to purify ourselves in the energy of the fire. Katherine will lead you in this powerful shamanic ceremony to let go.
Winter Solstice marks the passing of the old year and the beginning of the new, from the elemental perspective of this Solstice being the shortest day of the year, with light returning afterwards. This can be a meaningful ceremony and time to release the old and prepare for the new light that begins to emerge post Solstice. Katherine will lead you in ceremony for transformation, honoring all that has been, and all that will be dreamed into being.
**Bring items to throw in the fire that represent things you are letting go of (must be made of natural, non-toxic items.) Suggestions are an acorn, a twig decorated with holly or other leaves, cedar, ever green, written notes of release, cotton rope (representing any cords you are letting go of), spices, dried flowers, dried fruit, etc.)
Katherine will give individual and collective guidance from the Mythical Goddess Tarot. The Goddesses are always welcome on this festive event, to bring their wisdom to support us in times of transition, death, and rebirth.
Solstice is a time to celebrate with the blessings of food and drink. Hot Cider and some snacks will be provided. During our gathering you will get to experience an Andean Medicine Ritual of a Despacho. This ceremonial ritual will be dedicated to the blessings for each student and the clan of your as you go into the world. It will be a time for each student to offer blessings to each tribe mate in the ceremony, and to make an offering to Pachamama for the blessings to bring harmony to our clan and to all of our kin on earth.
Let's celebrate! The last day we gather we will bring some food to share with your tribe at lunch as you celebrate your transformation and honor one another.

The application process is really very simple. I am accepting eager students who are sincerely interested in the subject matter and course work who are committed to attending all gatherings, zoom calls, and willing to put in time for practices. It is important that you have a desire to learn, having openness and willingness to adopt and try new practices. It is important that you put your best effort forth, as what you put into this course work is what you will get out of this course.
There is nothing terribly physically rigorous about this shamanic course. However, you do need to be able to walk at least a mile on the flat lands in Illinois. It is also best if you are able to do short hikes. There will be a some short outings in nature, to gather her wisdom, energy, and often times found items.
You can expect great transformation within this container. Initiation is part of the process of change when you are in a highly-transformative container. Know that the changes you desire and the process of this class will be what you need to make those changes as you are willing. There may be times when you are challenged and need support. This container is the support, along with your classmates and Katherine. You will be enfolded by many allies and helpers for you to successfully clear old patterns, so you may bring forth greater harmony and authentic empowerment to be you along the way.

The Art of Journey is a 6-month course working with intention, creativity, shamanic journey, and Art as Medicine. We will gather one Saturday a month with the intention to use creativity and shamanic journey to access wisdom, creativity, inner symbolism, soul story, and healing spaces. The sacred space we will share will assist is in opening to the Inner Artist as Messenger, Seer, and Healer.
Making Art with IntentionMaking art with intention and ceremony invites you to access the power of your creative life force, symbolism, color, pattern, and metaphor. As you work with your desires, imaginations, and curiosities, you open to greater consciousness to be in flow through your creative process.
Shamanic journey will be a foundational space to go within, to access the inner levels of conscious, and the language of the soul. With the intention that every stroke of the brush (and other art-making processes) comes a healing movement—helping you discover the process of Artist as Healer. Intuitive art-making is a somatic, wise-one, healing art process. As one releases the old and brings in the new energies born of intention, love, hope, and desire, the experience brings energetic and physical healing.
Each month we’ll unfold the focus and theme for each person individually, and within the group. You will have the opportunity to focus your personal healing journey through the processes, as well as any projects you are inspired to create over the 6 months we gather.

Fear, fright, and trauma create patterns that stop us in our tracks, distort our sense of self, and cause imbalances and energy leaks leading ultimately to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual illness. In the shamanic world this is known as Soul Loss. In the western medical world the symptoms of Soul Loss are often diagnosed as PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, any number of emotional ailments, and shock at first glance. Other symptoms include exhaustion, not feeling like oneself, lacking harmony, inability to feel happy or present to one’s life, and often lacking purpose or direction. Typically when someone has Soul Loss it is difficult to maintain a job, relationship, health, finances, or any sense of well-being and harmony in their life. Even when high-functioning there is a sense something isn’t right in one’s life.
In tribal cultures Soul Loss is known as an adaptive mechanism meant only to be temporary. When there is a dangerous situation or accident, the soul pulls out of the physical body so as to escape the suffering from the trauma. To bring the soul back to their body and present time the tribal members give immediate loving attention, physical and emotional comfort, unconditional love, and all required to tend to that person’s needs. As the soul feels safe and loved they are able to come completely back to their body. Safety and love creates the frequency necessary for the healing and restoration.
When we don’t get this safe and loving energy for restoration we carry our trauma day to day. The trauma and soul loss can be from this life’s experiences, past life experiences, or ancestral trauma passed on from family member to family member, generation to generation.
You may or may not have any idea of having experienced a life trauma or fright. Yet you may see patterns in your family that reflect wounding, or you may not. I can assure you there is generational trauma whether you are aware of it or not. If you feel something is off or out of balance in your life there is a good chance some aspect of your soul self is displaced and wants to come home in safe and healthy ways.
Soul Retrieval is a spiritual process meant to assist the soul in coming home to present time, in love and safety. There is no need to visit the dark shadows of trauma in a soul retrieval session. Fear, fright, and trauma create patterns that stop us in our tracks, distort our sense of self, and cause imbalances and energy leaks leading ultimately to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual illness. In the shamanic world this is known as Soul Loss. In the western medical world the symptoms of Soul Loss are often diagnosed as PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, any number of emotional ailments, and shock at first glance. Other symptoms include exhaustion, not feeling like oneself, lacking harmony, inability to feel happy or present to one’s life, and often lacking purpose or direction. Typically when someone has Soul Loss it is difficult to maintain a job, relationship, health, finances, or any sense of well-being and harmony in their life. Even when high-functioning there is a sense something isn’t right in one’s life.
In tribal cultures Soul Loss is known as an adaptive mechanism meant only to be temporary. When there is a dangerous situation or accident, the soul pulls out of the physical body so as to escape the suffering from the trauma. To bring the soul back to their body and present time the tribal members give immediate loving attention, physical and emotional comfort, unconditional love, and all required to tend to that person’s needs. As the soul feels safe and loved they are able to come completely back to their body. Safety and love creates the frequency necessary for the healing and restoration.
When we don’t get this safe and loving energy for restoration we carry our trauma day to day. The trauma and soul loss can be from this life’s experiences, past life experiences, or ancestral trauma passed on from family member to family member, generation to generation.

About Katherine SkaggsI have been creating art since I remember. I have photos of me drawing at age 3, always replicating life in one form or another. I began painting at age 14 with oils, then watercolors at 19, later to embrace the beautiful intensity of high quality Golden acrylic paints. As I began to explore the esoteric, mystical nature of the Universe, I began to move from realism to the expression of energy and spirit creating form. I dove deep into the metaphysical, spiritual aspects in life, in my late 20s, ultimately asking how my art and spirituality came together. The answer came in a vision and a download, Soul Portraits! Terrified I understood my place was to reflect the essence of one's soul in a painting with color, symbol, and the indication of energy and not just form. Artist Jennifer CarmackMy journey as an artist like most artists has been a reflection of my experience of this world I exist in. I have worked as a yoga teacher and energy healer for over 20 years. I have had conversations with people about trauma, healing, energy systems and how the mind and body are reflections of all these aspects of ourself. And I feel like my art reflects that.
Whether I am inspired to spend time in a portrait or a mandala, work in acrylic or work in collage, I am drawn to look for the underlying layer.
