This ancient native style elk hide hand drum, is made by Katherine Skaggs in a traditional way in ceremony and with prayer. It is handcrafted with great love and attention. It is a well tied, full wrap frame drum made for rigorous use. Katherine also provides documentation for the “Care and Feeding of Your Drum”, so you will have a long lasting relationship with your drum.

This drum is excellent for drum circles, personal use in ceremony and ritual, as well as in shamanic healing and other sound healing practices. 18" offers a deeper sound and timber.

The hide drum is a living drum. Being made of hide, it reflects the heat, humidity and dryness of the environment. It is tunable once you understand the living, movement of its nature. The drum frame is made of maple, and the drum stick is alder wood with a dear skin head.
