This Healing Hand drum is a one-of-a-kind custom painted 16" elk hide drum, with an upgraded beater.

The Healing Hand is the symbol of life force flowing through the Healer's Hand, transforming and creating new life. The spiral in the center of the hand represents Creation and vitalizing energy. The purple blue night sky background symbolizes the healing energies of the heavens, the red and white amanita mushrooms on the left are the symbol of shamanic altered states and the wisdom allies of the mycelium network, and snake on the right symbolizes the medicine of Mother Earth for fertility, birth, alchemy of transmutation with the shedding of old skins, as well as death and rebirth. Turquoise star language encircles the outer edge of the drum making it a very high vibe shamanic sound tool.

The painting on this beautiful drum is created in high quality acrylic paint and sealed with a clear acrylic coating. The paintings last and last regardless of your drum use. Due to the clear acrylic coating you can expect your drum painting to wear well if you take care of it.

This ancient native style elk hide hand drum is made by artist and shamanic practitioner Katherine Skaggs in a traditional way in ceremony and with prayer. It is handcrafted with great love and attention. It is a well tied, full wrap frame drum made for rigorous use. Katherine also provides documentation for the “Care and Feeding of Your Drum”, so you will have a long lasting relationship with your drum.

This drum is excellent for drum circles, personal use in ceremony and ritual, as well as in shamanic healing and other sound healing practices. The hide drum is a living drum. Hide drums are sensitive to heat, humidity and dryness of the environment. The thicker the drum the less it will shift with the temperature. Painted drums will hold their sound even more in changing temperatures as they are sealed with the acrylics which give another layer of protection to your drum. The drum frame is made of maple, and the drum stick is alder wood with a dear skin head.
