Description
Shipibo Rattle - Snake
These hand-carved gourd rattles with the image of the Snake, also known as maracas, are beautifully crafted by the Shipibo tribe on the Amazon river in the jungles of Peru. The gourd is actually a large tree seed and the stick handle is made from the wood of the contaduro palm tree, decorated with parrot feathers. Each rattle is a ceremonial shamanic rattle also carved with protection icaros (song designs).
- Each rattle is always one-of-a-kind creation with its own unique sound.
- Carvings on each rattle may vary.
Snake Totem Medicine - Snake medicine is an ancient Goddess symbol of fertility, birth, transformation, shedding and releasing, rebirth and regeneration. Snake is the symbol of the kundalini, associated with healing, life force, and protection. In shamanism snake medicine is often associated with healers and their ability to help transmute poisonous energies.
Rattles are excellent shamanic tools to call in your allies, to call in good energy, and even to use in soul retrieval ceremonies. Rattles are also great cleaning and healing tools. Shake your rattle with clear intention to clear the space in a room, in your house or office, on your land, and most of all through your aura, or the energy field of another. Use with intention to journey inward for answers, as well as to collect lost soul parts.
