Each designated Saturday Meeting we will gather in a safe, ceremonial space for learning universal shamanic wisdom and practices, drum journeying, soul remembering, and creating shamanic tools. We will also meet virtually on Zoom once monthly at an agreed upon evening time for teleconference and check-in, to maintain and ground our teachings into our every day life, to build community and to gain support. Your zoom calls are equally important as the Saturday sessions. Please plan on them too.

It is time for our harvest, our completion, graduation and honoring of the hard work and play we have put in learning together, creating tribe together, and preparing to move to the next level of experience in our lives. Plan on an all day affair, to recap your learning and use of your tools, to give gratitude, and to celebrate.
The morning will be set aside to honor our tools and what they have taught us so far, as well as how else we may take them into our personal practices, and any offerings we may choose to offer others.
Graduation DespachoIn the afternoon we will work with the Andean Medicine Ritual of a Despacho. This ceremonial ritual will be dedicated to the blessings for each student and the clan of your 2024 Artist Shaman Healer Sage as you go into the world. It will be a time for each student to offer blessings to each tribe mate in the ceremony, and to make an offering to Pachamama for the blessings to bring harmony to our clan and to all of our kin on earth.
Let's celebrate! You will bring some food to share with your tribe at lunch as you celebrate your transformation and honor one another.

There is nothing terribly rigorous about this shamanic course. However, you do need to be able to walk at least a mile on the flat lands in Colorado. It is also best if you are able to do short hikes in the foothills near Katherine's home. There will be a few short morning outings to be in nature, to gather her wisdom, energy, and often times found items. First class (weather permitting) there is a morning outing for some of the teachings and experiences. Other classes will have similar teaching opportunities outside when possible. Some may be in Katherine's backyard, some in the foothills.
Classes are held at Katherine Skaggs' studio in foothills in Fort Collins, Colorado. We meet each month on the day indicated on this event page. Doors open at 8:30am. You are encouraged to come between 8:30 and 8:45am so we can begin promptly at 9am each month. We are complete by 6pm that same day.

The purpose of shamanic healing is to cleanse the body, to clear the energy field, and to restore balance to the mental, emotional and physical body and soul. Through every day life we interface with both life giving energy, and deadening energy. Fear, fright, and trauma energies, negativity thinking, EMFs, can all lower our vitality and ultimately cause illness. Shamanic healing is designed to clear these deadening energies, restoring your physical and energetic vitality, and filling your energy with life giving Sami, aka prana or life force. Restoration of the soul and any lost energy or lost soul parts is addressed. This may include supporting an individual in clearing an energy leak due to trauma or fright, then calling back any lost soul energy due to a trauma. Fright, trauma, and fear contribute to being out of balance… whether it be recently, in childhood, a past life, or a time you cannot recall. All healings are aimed to restore the soul essence as well as the physical container and energy bodies. Homework is often given to the individual to support their healing process over time. Each designated Saturday Meeting we will gather in a safe, ceremonial space for learning universal shamanic wisdom, practices, storytelling, drum journeying, soul remembering, and creating shamanic tools. We will also meet virtually on Zoom once monthly at an agreed upon evening time for teleconference and check-in, to maintain and ground our teachings into our every day life, to build community and to gain support. Ceremony, Graduation and Celebration. It is time for our harvest, our completion, graduation and honoring of the hard work and play we have put in learning together, creating tribe together, and preparing to move to the next level of experience in our lives. Plan on an all day affair, to recap your learning and use of your tools, to give gratitude, and to celebrate.
The morning will be set aside to honor our tools and what they have taught us so far, as well as how else we may take them into our personal practices, and any offerings we may choose to offer others.
Graduation DespachoIn the afternoon we will work with the Andean Medicine Ritual of a Despacho. This ceremonial ritual will be dedicated to the blessings for each student and the clan of your 2024 Artist Shaman Healer Sage as you go into the world. It will be a time for each student to offer blessings to each tribe mate in the ceremony, and to make an offering to Pachamama for the blessings to bring harmony to our clan and to all of our kin on earth.
Let's celebrate! You will bring some food to share with your tribe at lunch as you celebrate your transformation and honor one another.

The application process is really very simple. I am accepting students who are interested in the subject matter and course work. Monthly attendance for both the Saturday class and the zoom call is required, along with your desire to learn, your openness and willingness to adopt and try new practices monthly, and your agreement to put your best effort forth qualifies you to join the course. What you put into this class is what you get out of it. How you show up affects everything and everyone. You, the student, ARE the class! Everyone’s attendance brings great richness to the journey of all in the class.
There is nothing terribly rigorous about this shamanic course. However, you do need to be able to walk at least a mile on the flat lands in Colorado. It is also best if you are able to do short hikes in the foothills near Katherine's home. There will be a few short morning outings to be in nature, to gather her wisdom, energy, and often times found items. First class (weather permitting) there is a morning outing for some of the teachings and experiences. Other classes will have similar teaching opportunities outside when possible. Some may be in Katherine's backyard, some in the foothills.
Classes are held at Katherine Skaggs' studio in foothills in Fort Collins, Colorado. We meet each month on the day indicated on this event page. Doors open at 8:30am. You are encouraged to come between 8:30 and 8:45am so we can begin promptly at 9am each month. We are complete by 5pm that same day.
You are expected to join the class for the full day every month, as well as to attend all zoom meetings.

Join shamanic practitioner and author, artist Katherine Skaggs to learn about No Smoke Smudging with Flower Water.
Katherine will teach you about Agua de Florida, as well as the flower waters made from palo santo, tobacco, kananga, rose, and orange to clean and clear your space, and that of others. You will also learn about a pusanga or love potion, and how to use that to attract blessings, love, and good fortune.
Flower water is an excellent way to smudge when you can't burn smudge and use smoke to clear. With flower waters plant medicines are infused into alcohol and water, prayed with and sung into, used with intention, to clean your energy, raise your frequency, clear trauma and fear, as well as to bless and bring protection.
Agua de Florida water is the go to for shamans in Peru, and many places in the world. It is a mixture of a variety of plants. Many shamans, shamanic practitioners, and medicine people will pray into this flower water for general or specific prayers to heal and to clear bad energy (Hucha as the Q'ero call it), and to bring in uplifting energies of the plant spirit medicines as well as the prayers and intentions of the practitioner.
Using flower water as a daily smudge is an excellent way to keep your energy high, and to clean away worry, fear, and fright that is rampant in our world today.
Open your flower water, then as with all your allies, thank it for its powerful energies that are good in cleaning energy and raising your vibration, pray into it with a heart centered prayer and intention for wellness, shift, balance, love, peace, etc. Then pour some into the palms of your hands, rubbing your hands together, and then bringing up to breathe in deeply three times. Do so gently as this is very strong with alcohol and can be intense.
Once you have breathed in the flower water, use your hands to move through your energy field, above your crown, to the back of your neck, and behind you (intentionally sending to your heart and all of your back), and through your front, sending to your third eye to awaken your vision, to your throat to express your creativity and truth, to your heart for full heartedness, to your solar plexus to activate your power, to your 2nd chakra to support your creativity and intuition, and to your root, that you are grounded in this world with love. Place your hands onto any parts of your body that need extra healing and attention, intentionally sending this energy deep into your physical body and cellular structure to receive this energy and come back into balance. Use your hands and imagination to then send out into your room, to your animals, your loved ones, your land, to your work place, and to the world at large for healing and peace.
You can do a blessing offering anytime with this practice to clear, to bless, and to give gratitude. Give without condition. Those who would like to receive will do so in their right timing.
Other flower waters you can use are Palo Santo, Tobacco, Kananga, Rose, Orange, Lavender, and any assortment of home made flower waters, such as the pusanga/love potion.
I also have another company I carry that makes other plant medicine flower waters. Some that she creates are made from White Sage, Clary Sage, Sweetgrass, and Cedar to name a few. She makes an amazing Palo Santo mist that is one of my favorite.

This multi-cultural shamanic course is a foundation for living the ancient spiritual practices of direct revelation for transformation, and for living your life in power and unity. This course is for someone who is ready for change, for clearing away the things that block you from being you, and for awakening your true soul Self. This is for someone who wants to embrace his or her capacity to dream a life born of passion, joy and fulfillment.
Each designated Saturday Meeting we will gather in a safe, ceremonial space for soulful learning, drum journeying, soul remembering, and creating shamanic tools. We will also meet virtually on Zoom one to two times monthly at an agreed upon evening time for teleconference and check-in, to maintain and ground our teachings into our every day life, to build community and to gain support. If for any reason you cannot meet at this agreed upon time by the group, a recording will be available.
The content of the course will include foundational Shamanic teachings, the wisdom of the Medicine Wheel, and shamanic practices for living life empowered and awakened!
Each meeting we will also make ceremonial, shamanic tools associated with the work of that month.

The Power of Great Spirit, Our Final Meeting
Plan on an all day affair, completing the circle of the Medicine Wheel with the teachings of the Center and Great Spirit. We will also review our time together and how to continue to take this work forward into our every day lives.
Instead of ceremonial art we will bring all our tools we have made and work with them. We'll deepen into some healing practices and practice upon each other.

Every class will include a ceremonial, creative shamanic tool project. We’ll use ceremony and ritual to create our tools with intention and power.

Andean DespachoJoin us for a sacred Andean Despacho Ceremony in the tradition of the Q’ero peoples, from high in the Andean Mountains of Peru. Shamanic Practitioner Katherine Skaggs will guide us through this sacred gifting and bridging of ordinary reality with non-ordinary reality of the Spirit world. The despacho creates the space and place for right relationship, and right relationship with Pachamama, Mother Earth. Through this we bring healing to our relationship with all of our world. We will establish a linkage between our physical universe, our personal power and source of action (located in our solar plexus), our source of love (our heart chakra) and our wisdom (our third eye).
We will honor Pachamama and invoke her blessings, as well as Pachatata, to make an offering to the Sun and the stars. These two combined create a blessing ceremony to assist us in our every day lives to live in harmony in our world, as well as to invoke assistance from the heavenly realms to assist our planet, our humanity, to awaken and come into right relationship.
This ceremony will bring personal blessings, as well as global blessings. Your participation helps expand the energy through your presence.
Bring any offerings you would like to offer up to the fire and the despacho, such as dried flowers, nuts, seeds, cornmeal, small candies of bright colors, written prayers on small pieces of colorful paper, sugar, an open shell, rice, lentils raisins, animal crackers, black licorice, chocolate, sage or other incenses, gummy or candy frogs, play money, contain balls unraveled, confetti stars.
Each item you bring is symbolic and an offering for the intention of harmony and right relationship through gratitude. Your prayers are must important along with the other offerings that makes Mother Earth happy, as well as Father Sky.
We will create a healing packet, a gift, to offer to the fire made from all these items and our heartfelt love and appreciation.
