Jaguar Shaman Hummingbird Medicine

Jaguar Shaman Hummingbird Medicine reflects my deep connection to the plant and animal medicines of the Shipibo shamans. As I have shared before, Jaguar is one of my primary totem animals. Jaguar brings power, presence, protection, and the ability to move gracefully between worlds. Tobacco is a sacred masculine plant spirit. Tobacco offers cleansing, protection, and strength. Grandmother Ayahuasca has also been a longtime companion. She is the loving yet fierce mother who guides, purifies, and awakens. Finally, Hummingbird brings the essential medicine of joy.

If you look closely at the left side of the painting, you will also discover Owl emerging from the bark of the tree. This longtime ally carries the medicine of wisdom and helps clear fear from the path.

This painting earned the nickname "Shaman Guy" while it was coming to life on the canvas. Again and again, he revealed himself as a shapeshifter. He is a tobaccero—a shaman devoted to the sacred medicine of tobacco. Through tobacco, he offers healing while calling upon the songs and wisdom of many plant and animal allies to support transformation.

The medicine of the night, Jaguar, Tobacco, and Madre Ayahuasca all guide you toward the pure medicine of the heart that Hummingbird embodies. Shaman Guy extends his hand with the All-Seeing Eye, offering the gift of true sight—the ability to perceive life through the wisdom of the soul rather than through illusion.
