In the course of the 13 moon cycles we will go deeper into Ancient Shamanic Wisdom Practices, many born of Ancient Mystery School teachings, for personal empowerment and healing. Every practice and teaching will give you the opportunity to better know yourself, and gain greater mastery in all areas of your life. Whether you are a shamanic healing practitioner or a practitioner dedicated to greater connection to the Divine, you will walk away more empowered and connected to the mysteries of the Soul.

The Advanced Shamanism Meets Mystery School 2025 program is for those wanting to further develop their practices and understanding of working the shamanic pathway and ancient mystery school teachings for growth, empowerment and awakening.
Each meeting we will explore the topics listed below (most likely in the order given for the most part). We will work with the container of the Medicine Wheel to continue to hold our class container, working with the cycles of the Earth and what our Earth Mother has to teach us. You will work with shamanic journey and inner practices through the meetings in-person and online to develop your ability to contact your inner Self and spirit helpers for direct knowing.
The first Winter Quarter Meeting begins our time together. We'll dive deep into the intersection of Shamanism and Mysticism. We'll explore more of the ancient wisdom teachings, Divine Law, as well as undertake new exercises, and practices to deepen your inner knowing and channel. You will work in how to integrate these into your daily lives for greater harmony, self-awareness, and spiritual power. Now is the time to recognize and empower yourself as soul having a human experience with greater happiness, joy, and harmony. You will begin your Soul Mapping project, which is a project to work on over the year of this course. Each Quarter I will also include Gods/Goddesses who work with the energies of each part of the medicine wheel for you to further explore as allies.
As we enter Springtime we will work with spiritual understanding of the inner levels of consciousness, further dream work monthly in zooms or where possible, understanding the ancient teachings and practices of manifesting, the power of the spoken word for healing and creating, and working with the elemental energies to create, to heal, and to release that which does not serve. Shamanic journey spaces and meditations will be given to work with each area.
As we enter Summer we will work with the light, expansion, and illumination. We'll also work with setting containers of light that bring protection, as well as support growth. I'll introduce how to work with Sacred Geometry and its life giving forces for illumination of consciousness, and well-being of your physical and spiritual self. Then we'll move to work with candles and their elemental magick for bringing in light, as well as creating your desires.
As we enter Fall we will join to celebrate all we have created, all we have harvested, and all we are letting die. We will work with the power of harvest and gratitude as a super power on how we create. We will explore healing limiting stories that block our success, identifying and healing soul loss at deeper levels, soul retrieval for self and other, ancestral healing work.
Upon our 13th month meeting we will gather together in celebration of our time learning and growing individually and collectively as tribe. Prior to January 2026, as a tribe we'll plan a graduation ceremony day where each of you will step up to share your harvest, your wisdom, and reflections on what your soul mapping has brought you.
We'll plan a ceremony to bless each person and her gifts, as well as a place to share of your gifts.
You will have an assignment to bring a blessing of some sort to the group. This blessing is born of your learning journey and soul expansion. It can be a channeled message of love and empowerment. You can bring a story to tell that is uplifting and guiding. Whatever your blessing it is to help others focus on their light, on the truth of love and light guiding each person. This will be your time to shine as one who is the Divine Light, and one who shines her light into the world to support and uplift herself, her sisters, her family, and ultimately all of humanity.
Requirements to join: This is for all ASHS graduates who want to go further, deeper, wider, higher on the path! A commitment is to all meetings is expected and required as a prerequisite to this advanced study and participation. Must be able and willing to participate in ceremonial work, as well as all homework and monthly Zoom calls. This is a place to build relationships and the community of Tribe through the group participation.
Each participant is responsible for his own travel costs and any additional costs of lodging or food when not at Katherine’s Casa.

Connect with the spirit and essence of Tobacco in sacred ceremony and ritual. In this day of retreat, work with this sacred plant medicine teacher in silence, fasting and prayer. You will learn to invoke the Spirt of tobacco as your ally and as a powerful shamanic tool in your everyday life for clearing, cleaning and healing. Create a sacred relationship with tobacco, learning also to call it in for protection, and for assistance in creating greater boundaries and integrity in all areas of your life.
Tobacco is a sacred plant used by many indigenous peoples around the world. The sacred tobacco we work with is direct from the jungles of Peru. It is pure nicotine rustica, and is used by Peruvian shamans for clearing low frequency energies, such as trauma, unpleasant fear patterns, fright, as well as mental, emotional, and spiritual imbalances. Tobacco is a very good plant ally to use for protection and raising your frequency when done in reverence for the sacred plant. It greatly assists sensitive, empathic people when used consciously as an ally, through prayer and with intention.
Arrive well hydrated and fasting from food.
This is a one-day prayerful diet with tobacco, with an opportunity to get to know it better as a spirit ally and powerful healing tool. You learn to smoke it prayerfully, and do not inhale the smoke. You can also opt in to pray with it as an ally and not smoke it all, as the relationship is not dependent on smoking it, but on how you honor it and call it in as a spirit ally.
This is a day of fasting. Prior to the beginning of the day diet with tobacco, you are requested to hydrate early morning. No food. You will be in prayer and silence all day with Tobacco until 3pm. (If you have blood sugar issues, hypoglycemia, or diabetes, please talk to Katherine for proper supervision and support.)
The day of prayer, fasting, and work with tobacco ends at 3pm. An organic soup, fresh fruit, vegetables, and GF bread are provided to break your fast and nourish you.
After eating, an integration of the group will be offered and a closing of the day of ceremony with tobacco. You will be free to leave by 5:30pm or sooner.

For those who would like to go deeper with Tobacco as your spirit ally, join for the two-day immersion with Tobacco. Day 2 will begin at 8am with ceremony and prayer to begin the day as it was in Day 1. At 3pm you will break the fast as with the day with an organic meal. Then we will do another integration, with a closing of the circle for the event.
In the jungles with the Shipibo tribe, the traditional Dieta with Tobacco is a 7-day diet. You actually consume a drink made of the tobacco leaves (prayed over by the shamans), as well smoke the mapachos (tobacco in what looks like cigarette form) in prayer. This offers you the opportunity to infuse your energy bodies with the plant intelligence and deepen into an ally relationship with the plant.
The two-day Tobacco Dieta offers a deeper experience with the plant for those who are interested in having Tobacco as a great protective and healing ally.

Katherine Skaggs, Shamanic Practitioner
Katherine Skaggs is a shamanic practitioner who has trained extensively with the Shipibo shamans from the Amazon jungles of Peru and their shamanic traditions since 2007. In her apprenticeship she has dieted with sacred tobacco and a ladder of other sacred plants from the jungle that assist energetically, spiritually and physically. The first plant to diet with is Tobacco.
"To get to know this plant, the shamans create a fresh pressed drink out the the leaves of the tobacco plant. Each day the shamans pray into the plant drink with prayers for the medicine to assist us, and for us to become allies with it and its powers. They would also put prayers into three mapacchos for us to work with each day. A mapaccho looks like a cigarette, but is not, as it is pure tobacco and only meant for prayerful use. Then we would pray into our tobacco drink (or whatever plant we were working with), and drink it down. We would then rest, fast, pray and dream during the day. We began at dawn and were in ceremony until 3pm. Then we could break our fast. We did this for 7 days, as that is the minimum time for the sacred relationship to be created, and for the plant to lay its energy matrix into our field."
Tobacco is sacred and not meant to be used mindlessly. It knows your prayers and will go to work for you if you hold it in its sacredness. And if you disrespect it, it will kill you! This class is to get to know Tobacco as a powerful ally, and to have a sacred relationship with it.
The Year of Ceremony is an Advanced Shamanic Practitioner’s Training program for those wanting to further develop their practices and understanding of working the shamanic pathways for growth, empowerment and awakening.
Answering the Call
As we have put this course together, it is very clear that we have answered the call to assisting others as well as ourselves, to living in the light, and to expanding that light to others. This Year of Ceremony course is a gathering of Tribe, a gathering of shamanic practitioners who are ready to go to the next level, through personal commitment to Self, as well as to the Whole. Humanity is at a crossroads, a time of birthing from a dark space to a new and expanded awareness. Each choice we make to evolve, to love more deeply, to release the old patterns born of suffering and separation, and to serve the Whole, the more easily, gracefully we evolve together in love.
One of the exciting parts of this class is our exploration into the Inner Soul Self, the Inner Healer, the Inner Shaman through the deepening of practices in Mysticism and Shamanism. The two are truly one as you look more deeply and transcend the language. However, we bring to you what is most important in accessing the Inner Self with additional mystical shamanic teachers and practices. It is time to embrace and embody the path of the Seer and the Shaman, the Priestess/Priest and the Shaman in your spiraling up on the shamanic adventure.
Through this course, we are here to create the sacred space required to continue developing your greatest gifts, as well as offering the tools, the teachings, the practices and the experiences that empower you to your next evolutionary you. There are five meetings along the way, as well as many online videos, zoom calls and written materials to support your journey. Most of all there is Tribe you connect to and are supported by along the way. There is always exponential power in numbers.
Together both Kim and I look forward to co-creation, manifestation, alchemy, personal healing, working as healer with others, and brining alchemical healing to the collective consciousness of Humanity. It is strongly requested that the participant also do additional once quarterly recommended ceremonial work in addition the course work.
Each participant is responsible for his own travel costs and any additional costs of lodging or food when not at Katherine’s Casa. One gathering will be a camping trip/outdoor excursion (location yet to be determined).
Each participant will have potluck item(s) to bring to each meeting, as we will cook all meals together, clean up, and act in cooperation as Tribe supporting and nourishing each other. (Expectation is to keep the cost each person’s food contribution to $25 each)
