This New Moon in Leo arrives with powerful fire energy, calling us into radical responsibility and the restoration of divine sovereignty in our lives. The mythical goddesses of the Tarot speak through this reading with a clear message: it’s time to burn away what no longer serves, return to our heart’s coherence, and embody the truth of who we are.
The first card, Fire – Self-Destruction, reminds us that fire is both a destroyer and a purifier. This New Moon’s energy shines a cleansing light on all patterns of self-betrayal, those moments when we have gone against ourselves to please others or out of fear. We've graduated from the cycle of 2021, some of us a little bruised and tattered, yet hopefully counting our blessings for all this is good amidst the really challenging, tempering times we have been adventuring. It is a time of endings, graduations, letting go, dreaming anew, reflecting, alchemizing, and moving into a new energy and cycle.
Prayers, blessings, curiosities, and imaginations are the way we focus our energy to create, to bring the formless to form. Quiet time, time of ritual and ceremony, meditation, journaling, divination, and creativity are all excellent ways to shift out of the old and move into the new. As we enter the unknown of a new year, it is a good time to let go of our old stories, past hurts and triumphs, so we may turn our focus to present time and potentiation.
Have you considered what you truly desire in this moment? Have you let go of limiting stories, thought forms, emotions, habits, and ways of being? If not, now is a perfect time to include that with your first steps into 2022 so you may enjoy the riches of a new experience, of a new dream. May you, and I, and all of humanity harvest the good from all that has been, honoring it as sacred so we may be wise and present in our lives. May we release that which no longer serves us, composting the pain, the attachments and suffering, alchemizing each sacred experience into gold as best as we can, beyond anything we could ever imagine possible. May we receive the blessings that follow the composting — the rich soil to plan the seeds of desire and intention for new life that comes in spring, for growth, healing, and abundant restoration.
Over the last weeks I have taken some time to paint in the process of giving way to vision, and immersing myself in my creative process to bring healing to my own body and life. I could feel an Ancient One, a Grandmother, standing with me, showing me her wisdom, and bringing blessings of healing as I let go of an old pattern and way of being. With her came my dear friend Owl, to assist me in cleaning my body and my energy. Both offered much love and wisdom for my personal journey, and for what I have to share with you.
There is no mistake that Ancient Grandmother Owl Medicine painting came to canvas and imagery and words the past two weeks or so to help me. And as always to be here for you.
She walks with each of us as we open to her presence through our desires for wholeness. She reminds us that we cycle through many dreaming adventures, birthing experiences, adolescence, motherhood/fatherhood, and old age upon our earth journeys. These experiences offer us the opportunity where we once again must let go of what was, the opportunity to harvest the gold from the experience, and the opportunity to be still and move inward to receive, to integrate, and to eventually dream again.
She now cheers us on in our journey through winter, and the place of dreamtime. She encourages us to become conscious dreamers, present in each breath, observing and allowing, dreaming anew as we welcome the cycle of a new year.
Ancient Grandmother Owl Medicine urges each of us to be present in this time so we may be grateful for all we have. She encourages us to give through open hearts. This path of gratitude and reciprocity will assist us in being in peace once again, and the place of compassionate love that heals. Ancient Grandmother Owl Medicine says to look with the eye of a kind and generous heart, a generous nature. For here we shall experience the vast love of Spirit within and all around.

Whether it be drawing, painting, doing a soul portrait, writing, or making a shamanic tool (yes, I make drums, rattles, feather tools and more), I experience healing, connection, and joy.
Creativity is the very essence of life. This summer I redesigned my front garden, put in a medicine wheel and recreated various flower beds and that was equally joyful for me. My yard was my canvas. 
Early in life I would escape into my room and draw, and later paint to get away from the rumble of ordinary life chaos I felt in my family or the world at large. Immersion in the creative process put me in touch with my inner world, that has led me to my true spiritual nature.
I was in my late 20s when I began upon my metaphysical, spiritual path. As I began to get exposed to these teachings I began to see art that conceptualized the ideas of dreams and the spirit world and that which is beyond the physical world.
This insp
ired me to draw and explore these ideas through my art. Yet, it was when I opened a metaphysical store that I began to dive in wholly. I saw art by Alex Grey and Susan Seddon Boulet in books and on calendars during that time and ‘knew I was supposed to do something like that.’ This is when I began to paint and go further on the path. Then I asked my guides, “How does my art and spiritual path come together?” It took a little while, probably a year!
But finally I heard, “Soul Portraits!” It was loud, and clear in my mind as if I was speaking with someone right in front of me. And I knew exactly what it meant…and it scared the holy daylights out of me! LOL. I have to laugh now as it is the most wonderful experience I can share with another person, couple or family.
Visionary art is transcendent art. It is art that reflects the mystical, the spiritual worlds, and the unseen world that animates the physical world. It connects our conscious mind to the eternal Divine essence. It is not only ‘visionary’, but energetic and often very healing for an individual to engage with. Visionary art awakens higher consciousness.
Soul Portraits are the process of reflecting a true soul’s essence back to them through a channeled image, words, and energy flowing onto canvas. Soul portraits are truly living paintings, assisting an individual in reconnecting with their eternal essence.
Each painting is a beautiful portal to the Divine. It has inspired color, symbol, and story to ‘see’ the recipient, and to remind them who they truly are beyond this physical life, supporting them in fully connecting to their essence.

Spirit Guide Paintings
It has continued to flow out from there, evolving to channeling Divine Beings, angels, masters, and light beings into form on canvas, with their messages and healing energies. In addition to soul portraits I bring in spirit guides for individuals and groups. There are personal spirit guides, and animal totems, in addition to larger group guides who make themselves known.
When they come in they bring higher guidance for an individual to heal, awaken, and grow similarly to a soul portrait. Yet I find the power and presence of a guide is powerful in another way, helping one to know they are never alone, and have support in their human life. I have brought in guides during group sessions too, who bring a message for that specific group, but also for the collective.
Tell us about your 44 card Masters of Light OracleI am very excited to say I am working diligently to finish the cards and writing so we can go to press by the end of 2021. This is a culmination of guidance that has come for many years now. There will be images of Divine Masters that I have painted since 2004 to 2021. You can see a sneak preview here.
Angels, Ascended Masters, Mayan Masters, Goddesses, and many other Divine Beings of Light are here to bring guidance, healing, activation, awakening and support for discovering your true Divine Self.
Every image and its message is high frequency, loving, and awakening when viewed. This oracle is vibrationally transformative to one’s consciousness and is a tool for awakening beyond the sleepiness of ordinary human life. These are master beings who are here to assist us in awakening on the soul’s journey, that we may love more greatly.
Sometimes the guides just come to me and ask to be painted, and to bring their message to the world through my own personal experience and needs. Other times, individuals commission me to bring a guide in, known or unknown, and then I engage with them on a spiritual level and ask them to reveal themselves to me. And I work with my intentions and call them to me if I know I want to engage them.
This began very clearly when I called in the 22 Goddesses for the Mythical Goddess Tarotin 2006 to 2008. I have many stories of how each Goddess came to me and showed me how to paint her. It was a conversation with the Divine, with her essence, archetype, story and message. Believe me, each Goddess, each Divine Being I paint is alive and well.
Prior to that, Mother Mary presented herself to me in 2004 in visions for three days, showing me she wanted me to paint her. Then she woke me on the third night and told me to get up and get the largest canvas I had and paint her. Well, I did get up in the middle of the night. I could not ignore her! And I painted 85% of a 3 foot by 4 foot canvas during that night. She beamed unconditional love to me and through the art that night she let me know the sacredness of sacred art that is created to transmit unconditional love and vibrations of wisdom into the world.
That was the beginning of me understanding that Mother Mary is one of my main guides and helpers to bring love and wisdom into this world through the art, and the products created from the art. The painting, a print of the painting, or a card and oracle of the works are each portals to bring light and awareness into a world that needs love and guidance.
What other works have you created to assist others?I am the artist and original publisher of the Mythical Goddess Tarot (author Sage Holloway). This year it won an Iconic Gold award with the Coalition of Visionary Resources. And I just released my new book Artist Shaman Healer Sage – Timeless Wisdom, Practices, Ritual, and Ceremony to Transform Your Life and Awaken Your Soul.
It is a shamanic, spiritual guidebook to empower you to change your life through understanding ancient wisdom practices for current times. It is also filled with more than 70 full color pieces of my artwork to inspire and uplift.
Once someone has asked for a soul portrait or spirit guide painting, I ask them to be quiet and focus on their true heart’s desires for getting a soul portrait or guide painting. What is the intention? What do they most need now? How would they like to heal? What changes would they like? What does their heart, soul, body, and life need?
When a person is called to get a soul portrait or guide painting there is usually some seed of desire that gets them here. Their soul is calling them. It may come through desire to heal the body or heart, or to expand into their spiritual life, or work life, or… It can be anything truly.
Perhaps they have seen a soul portrait and think “I have to do that!” Once we have connected I know they have been called to waking up to a new level of self awareness. So I ask them, “What is your intention or prayer for yourself right now?” This is part of the opening of the doorway to their essence energies and the visions they give me energetically when we sit together for their session (whether it be in person or via zoom.) If they are at a distance I have them email me a recent photo for physical reference. Yet, it is their energy and spirit that guides me in the symbol, color and story they most need to experience.
Once the portrait has been painted and goes home with a client, I encourage them to then regularly sit in open eyed meditation with the painting. Since it is a painting, sitting in meditation, and reflection with the imagery and artwork, it is a place for the client to re-member, to receive, and to awaken through their experience. Journaling and reflection is part of their sacred journey once they have received the art and the session.
The Divine is within you, no matter your human experience. Be curious about it. Ask for support. Say hello to your guides and the higher energies of love, of wisdom. Your curiosity will open the doors of the Divine, as will your time and attention. Whatever you focus on does expand.
Be clear where you focus. Do your best to focus on love, beauty, and kindness. As you are a vessel for this in the best ways possible, you will change your world in the most beautiful ways. Learn to respond rather than react to this world. What if it just got better as you did your best to believe in a better self, a better world, and the possibility of greater harmony?
We are the ones who create our world. It is up to us to be the change we want. We are in times of great change that look chaotic, messy, and too often far beyond our control. At times we will feel defeated, sad, and exhausted from the messiness of the human world.
Do your best to take care of yourself and your world. Do what you can do in your body, your mind, and your emotions. Do your best to be kind to those you meet at the grocery store, in your family, and in your world for friends. Do your best to love in the microcosm of your Universe. What you think, what you say, and how you act creates.
This is how you make a difference. What you give will come back to you. What you give will bless another if it is loving. Be the love you wish to experience.
If you are a writer or an artist, let your writing and your art reflect this. If you are a chef, create your food with love and give that. If you are a gardener, the beauty you create blesses others as yourself. If you are a bus driver, how you greet people makes a difference in their day. If you are a world leader, as you act and speak to be good for all, the greater harmony you bring within and all around you.
You matter, no matter your role in this world. Use your life in a way that restores love and pleasure and it will be the biggest blessing you can imagine, and more than you can imagine.
As we begin February 2021 what do we need to know, and focus on to begin the month and to create anew? The word courage comes to mind as I focus on the cards. So I ask the Mythical Goddess Tarot how to proceed for the highest and best outcomes.
Maiden of Seas - Passion
The Maiden of Seas, the Passion card is in the very center of this spread. She tells me we need to first of all focus on our heart spaces and the passion we carry for our lives. Focus on our heart's desires, to give us the courage to 'go for it', whatever 'it' is. Our heart's know the way. They are the portal to our soul selves and will guide us where we need to go with the power of the heart and our connection to our very soul purpose.
Major Arcana Goddess Mother Mary - Sacrifice Mother
To the left of Passion is Mother Mary, the Sacrifice card. She tells us we need to let go of all that we are attached to that is dying and outmoded, devoid of spirit. Let go and trust the eternal life that is within you and all your relations, and move beyond any ways you live in the past, or look to past structures that no longer support you and your growth. Trust, faith, and hope are very much part of this card. Mary knows that we are so much bigger than our finite human existence. Tap into your heart spaces, your passion, and trust that your love and your spirit will show you the way, as you trust your heart. Work with the powers of unconditional love for yourself, and you can extend that to each person in your life and all your circumstances. As you trust your heart and soul's desires, releasing attachment to old form, you will be able to move forward with trust that what you desire flows to you in right timing.
Major Arcana Goddess White Buffalo Calf Woman - Sacred Fire
To the right of Passion is the beautiful, sacred White Buffalo Calf Woman. She reminds us that all life is sacred and holy. As we honor our hearts, releasing attachment to all form devoid of life, we more easily can embrace the holy life that we are all here to live. Look for the beauty and sacredness in all life and you will restore this in yourself at all levels. Let go of the things that separate you from your heart spaces. Purify your thoughts, emotions, spirit, and physical being through prayer, with fire ceremony, and offerings to the earth and Spirit. With the support of these energies we have the opportunity to return to sacredness in our lives and how we meet one another in a more harmonious way.

Time to Dream Big!
On the heals of the New Moon Dec. 14th and Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius, aligning with our Galactic Center Dec. 17th, 2020, we are being called to DREAM BIG as great light is being offered to us. How do we get there? What is most important to truly move into the next level of healing, joy, and happiness once again? The guidance came this morning in meditation to DREAM BIG, to turn our focus on the heart dreams of our souls that are programmed into us before birth. This reading is about how do we get there?
WHO ARE WE as we ask this question? At the center of the reading Hindu Goddess Lakshmi, the Wheel of Fortune card, Crow Woman, the Sacred Law card, and the Crone of Fire, Transmutation tell me that we are abundantly supported from our spiritual selves to our earthly selves, that we are aligned with our soul's destiny through Universal Law and that we are moving out of the fire of transmutation as we enter our new phase. Time to claim these gifts to truly dream big, and manifest a new reality.
THE BIG PICTURE - In the big picture Morgan le Fay, the Sorceress (who was in our reading yesterday), again reminds us were are here to Source ourselves to the Divine, so we may magically create our desires. The 5 of Earth, manipulation, is up to heal all the ways we are entangled with limiting patterns of pain in the earth realm. To be free we must cut these cords that bind us. And the 4 of Wind, Patience, reflect that we are on the precipice of great change and expansion as the heavens reign blessings upon us. Visionary Artist of the Mythical Goddess Tarot
For thousands of years, in ancient temples and every day homes, sacred art has been used to shift one’s focus upwards to the Divine, to bring healing, and to create sacred space. Priests, priestesses, shamans, medicine men and women all have invoked healing through the assistance of sacred art objects, images, written text and statuary. They understood how to use sacred imagery and word to create portals to the Divine, accessing the magic and healing vibrations.
Great artists through the past 100s of years were not only trained as artists, but were also trained in mystery schools, where they understood sacred geometry, and the power of art to open energy portals, as well as to convey high frequency light to the masses. Michelangelo and Leonardo Divinci were such mystic artists.
These artist mystic traditions continue in our current day, where the artists are the messengers to awaken the soul. If you have ever found some visionary, spiritual art calling you, you must know it spoke deeply to your being, and not just your eyes.
I has such an experience when I saw the art of Alex Grey, Susan Sedon Boulet and Meinrad Craighead in the early 90s. I owned a metaphysical store, had been training in a mystery school for 4 years, and had also been an artist since I could pick up a pencil. When I chose their art books and calendars to sell in my store, I became very much aware that something was calling me. I felt deeply that perhaps I too was supposed to do something visionary or spiritual with my art. Over the following 10 years, it became clear to me what that union was. It ultimately directed my path in life as a mystic, visionary artist myself, finding my way as channel of the Divine, and messenger to the soul through my art.
Along the way I would say I learned many symbol systems and the power of sacred imagery, yet that is not completely true. It is more like I “remembered” how to bring in sacred imagery, not through my eyes, but through my soul, as a channel. The journey first was to heal my own soul self. Getting still and asking for guidance married with the act of making art was the beginning of the Divine coming through me in more mystical and expansive ways. Each experience of contact with a Divine Being, such as Mother Mary, or White Eagle, or Serapis Bey, or another angel or guide who revealed themselves, was an experience of opening a portal to high frequency light waves that heal, that awaken and that transcend a 2-D piece of art. Once created in the original art, it continues to open sacred spaces, transmitting light codes of love and guidance, even in small reproductions such as an altar card or small print.
When art is created at a soul level, with intention, symbol and meaning, it has the capacity to open doorways to the Divine. It brings vibrational healing through its holographic and physical presence. It calls the soul to recall more of their Divinity through an activation of the akasha energy field, and ultimately into the personality. It breaks the mind and the heart open to love and awareness.
We all can’t have great pieces of art in our homes or on our altars. Yet today, we have the magic of reproduction, offering the opportunity of owning beautiful artwork in more affordable versions that we can hang in our homes and place into our sacred spaces.
What determines Sacred Art?
Not all art falls into the category of visionary sacred art. Is the art created in love? Is it high vibrational? Does it convey messages of the divine without religious constraints, rules and judgements? Is it beautiful? Does it make you smile, feel more love, or curiosity of the invisible realm of Spirit?
I have found that the artists engaged in conveying Divine messages through their art, bring healing to others. An astrologer 30 years ago told me it would be the artisans in the New Age who would be the true Healers. For these would be the conduits dancing with the Divine, bringing expression of it's high frequency energies to Earth via inspired visual art, movies, dance, song, music, etc.
Sacred Art and Altar Spaces
Creating beauty in your home and sanctuary spaces brings peace, calm, vision, hope and healing. The color, pattern, geometries, symbols, Divine Beings and vibration create a focused energy, both physically and spiritually. The feel good beauty of sacred art immediately begins to shift any space. When the high vibrations come into your space, your attention is moved to a higher awareness in your conscious mind, as well as on a subconscious or soul level.
Your aura, or quantum field begins to vibrate upwards, as well as the space where the altar sits. Through prayer and meditation at your altar with your sacred imagery and objects, you begin deepening your spiritual energies and awarenesses. This is the journey of cultivating greater peace, beauty and grace, where you are less and less apt to fall into the lower energies of judgment and separation.
These beautiful images are spiritual tools that work, even when you aren’t consciously doing anything. They hold space for you, whether you can or can’t.
The Call to Share Sacred Art as Altar Cards
Many years ago, when I began to channel Divine Beings through my art (Mother Mary, Buddha, Jesus, Archangel Michael and other angels to name a few), I became aware that I needed to share the images on a larger scale, and not just sell one painting at a time. The guidance was most strong when I was awakened one night by Mother Mary, and I had to get up to paint her. This particular experience was one of receiving a transmission of unconditional love that came into the art. At this time it was clear the importance of sharing the imagery as a way to bring light to awaken others heart and souls through compassion and love.

Create Altar Spaces for Inspiration and Healing
When in need of making one’s life for sacred, for healing and for being lifted up, it is a great idea of set aside a small space in your home for an altar. Altars are physical places where you focus your attention to prayer, meditation, worship, and calling forth your Divine Guides and Helpers. The space doesn’t have to be big, yet it might be.
Personal altars are a great way to stay connected to the sacredness of all life, especially yours! They become containers that hold your prayers, intentions and desires in the most sacred ways. They help ground the higher energies of the Divine into the physical world.
Creating and working with an altar is as essential to a mystic, shaman or priestess, as brushing one’s teeth is to good oral health.
To make your own personal altar, it is a great idea to keep out of the attention of others. Choose a private space where you can put down an altar cloth, or something beautiful as the base to hold your items and prayers. A candle is often added to represent the light, fire and illumination. If you would like to include all the elemental energies, place some item representing the Earth, Water and Air on the altar. Some dirt from a sacred or special place, water you have blessed or from a sacred well, and a feather or something clearly representing the air. Add fresh flowers to bring in beauty, and to open a portal to the Divine. (Angels and Ascended Masters LOVE the color, beauty and fragrance of flowers!)
Add Divine Art Altar Cards to focus bringing in the guidance of any specific guides, angels, or ascended masters you would love to invoke through your altar. With time, you will become more and more clear when they are present, and that you have clear communication anytime you desire it or need it. The more you work with their imagery and essence, the more sensitive you are to their vibration energy and how it reaches you.

Altar cards are also great for your desk at work, to carry in your car or in your purse, hung near your bed, on on your bathroom mirror. They create space wherever they are! There are many images of Sacred Ones you may incorporate, who will absolutely visit you as you begin to say “hello” by honoring them through your focused attention, gratitude and physical presence through sacred art.
To connect, what is your need for guidance, your hope or your intention?
Hold your intention, prayer, need or desire strong in your heart and mind when asking who to connect to. Cultivate reflection and stillness. Ask for your spirit helpers to come to you in any way you can recognize their energy.
Then open to the imagery you find at a local metaphysical store card or calendar section, or art books, or online sacred art. Ask for the image and the presence of the Divine Helper to be revealed. Synchronicity will unfold and you will be directed to the energy of your helper. It may come in song, art, written word, statuary, movie references, etc. Your Divine Helper may well be a Marvel character, or an angel, ascended master, goddess or an animal. Don’t be surprised!
Notice who are you drawn to by image. If you don’t have a specific idea or knowledge of who you would like to put on your altar, peruse the images to see who attracts you. Move beyond your intellect to your intuitive senses. The image will call you. The message will follow.

Say “hello” and “thank you”. Be specific if you can, and name the gifts and powers of that being, honoring their mastery and benevolence. Ask them to lift you up, into their awakened vibrations, that you too might align with their blessings.
Sit with the Divine Being via your altar card and gaze softly upon it. Feel into its energy. As you quiet your mind, and still your body, you will connect deeply through the image.
Journal with the essence of the Divine One, reflecting, asking questions, feeling into the responses, opening your intuition and knowing.
Invoke through prayer and ritual. Sing praise of gratitude and blessings.

This can include plant, herb and mineral spirit medicine, the use of song and other instruments to move and transform energy, visualization, soul retrieval, extraction, hands on shamanic massage or physical body manipulation. The shamanic practitioner understands the necessity to use both nature and spirit in healing and that true healing is whole and complete: body, mind and spirit.
Learn to make your own 16" deer hide drum or an 18" elk hide drum on a maple hoop frame, along with a drum beater, in sacred ceremony and ritual the way our ancestors did. Call in the spirit of your drum, and infuse your drum making with love and intention.
This playshop includes all materials to make your drum, within the practice of sacred shamanic ceremony. We will open a medicine wheel and call in the directions and all our allies, we will smudge and smoke ourselves and our drum materials while setting intention and sending prayers to Spirit.
The ancient style drum is a beautiful instrument of the heart. It is used often for personal pleasure, shamanic healing work, drum circle gatherings, and shamanic journey work. The melodic beat can help you enter into trance-like, meditative states to assist you in accessing wisdom, guidance, and the place of calm of the heart center.
In shamanic healing work the drum is known to bring in a vibration to clear blocks in the energy bodies as well as to open the spiritual heart center. A practitioner may assist another in journeying to meet their spirit guides and totem animals for wisdom and healing, or may journey for the them. Drumming can move one out of the linear, left brain, into the frequency of peace obtained in meditation, which is also associated with the right brain.
Making your own drum in a sacred, shamanic environment helps you to get in touch with the spirit of your drum, as well as the spirit animals associated with your drum hide of choice.
