This class is devoted to working with the Medicine Wheel and the Teachings of the South, the medicine of the heart and relationships. The South is the ally which opens and illuminates the authentic heart. It is the direction representing the illumination of the Summer sun, community and the heart. Learning to call upon the ally of the South within the map of the Medicine Wheel, is a call to open the heart, a call to clean and clear that which blocks and limits the heart, and a call to illuminate our most beautiful power of authenticity and love.
Within a safe and sacred container, you will have the opportunity to explore the drum as the instrument of the heart, and to receive a drum healing. You will also experience working with shamanic drum journey as a way to clear old stories and woundings, and gain support and guidance for illuminating the heart and soul light.
You will learn additional techniques for healing, forgiving and letting go of old stories and wounds that limit your havingness and joyfulness. Then you will learn to center, and fill up, infusing yourself with light, expanding your energy through your body and into all of your life, again for greater harmony, peace and joy.
You will receive healing by simply participating in the class. Better yet you will receive transformative exercises and practices to infuse your heart with the light of your own authentic self.

Each shamanic healing circle brings an opportunity to align with the full moon energy, to offer gratitude for what you have and have received in this cycle, and then to lay down any old patterns and energies that no longer serve your life. The full moon cycle is always a time for harvest, a time to gather and be grateful for what has come, to pick the fruit off the vine and enjoy the blessings of your labors... as well as to then compost what has died on the vine, what is no longer giving energy, nourishment, value and blessing to your life.
We gather in community for a sacred ceremony of blessing and healing with the Shamanic Healing Circle. As you enter into this evening, you will receive a cleaning/clearing with sacred tobacco and agua florida water. We will then open a shamanic circle in ceremonial style calling in our allies for support, to hold a safe and sacred space for the evening. Short shamanic clearing/healing and blessings will be offered individually within the group setting.
The collective group setting and individual clearings assist in balancing the inner and outer self, helping one to better navigate their lives in balance and personal power.
Shamanism and shamanic energy healing is known to be as old as 50,000 years according to modern day archeology. Katherine Skaggs has trained internationally with Shipibo shamans from the jungles of Peru, the Q'ero from the Andes of Peru and the Huichols from Mexico, in addition to multi-cultural shamanic teachers within the U.S. The practices offered within this ceremonial circle are handed down from these traditions and offered with the intention of personal and community healing and blessing.

Each Full Moon Shamanic Healing Circle is the time to get a shamanic limpia, or cleaning, join in sacred ceremony to let go, to be grateful, to harvest, to fill up and regenerate. You will be cleaned and cleared in sacred, ancient shamanic healing modalities of the shipibo, huichols, qer'o and native american traditions. A sacred medicine wheel circle will be opened, and you will be given individual attention for a personal short healing, as well as a healing within the group setting. You can also bring prayers and put items on the altar, for yourself, friends, family community. These healing ceremonies benefit our world and are of great service to humanity... all because you show up and do your work!

She told me she brought the feather as she thought it her medicine. After we met she was clear it was time this beautiful feather was to be passed to me, as I was awakening to my path to hold owl medicine blessings.
At the time of this story I am to tell you below, I had already begun my advanced shamanic practices with my teachers in Santa Fe. I am very curious as to where my bird allies are and the medicine they want to bring me. And so the story unfolds...
I had already had an amazing week of magic with my friend Denise Rodgers, a soul sista, shamanic priestess and partner in Sophia Psychic Readings and Healing Sessions. Denise lives in Texas, but comes here to work (and play) with me periodically. We just finished a cycle of readings and healings in Fort Collins. Somehow this great success propelled us both to two nights of shamanic ceremony in Santa Fe, a seemingly perfect culmination of the great fun, love and healing we had shared in this last week's cycle.
The goddesses are alive and well as I enjoy both channeling and painting the goddesses for the Mythical Goddess Tarot. I want to share my experiences that I have had in painting this incredible deck and the progress we are making in its completion.I hope to engage a conversation with those of you who come to read this, to invite you to peruse the Mythical Goddess Gallery and to perhaps even buy an altar card or two and work with the images so you can experience their power and move your consciousness to greater Love and embodiment of these benevolent beings of Love and healing.

The Divine Feminine Taurus Full Moon energy November 10th comes on the eve of an auspicious spiritual portal day of 11-11-11. The 11-11-11 date is a day considered to be a portal to awakening for the masses of humanity, activating our very DNA. It is considered an encoded time portal that is unlocking the genetic codes that have been hidden from our conscious awareness for thousands of years. The awakening of these DNA encoding in turn is assisting us in remembering who we really are as spiritual beings having a physical experience. We really are being given an energetic assistance to "Waking Up!"

As the lurching, panicked mind of the mass consciousness gets louder and louder and more media attention reflects it, the need is essential for us to keep our sacred space, our sanctuaries safe, and our centering in Spirit. We also must play and dance…as if our lives depended on it!
Through times of destruction, the signature of the Age of Kali, the fall of form and the remembrance of 9/11, there are cycles of birth and beginning that may be hard to see at this point. However, the greatest gifts come on the cycles of seeming loss and tragedy. Humanity is being borne into it’s true power, and all false icons to the god of power are imploding, as they should.

It's September 7th, and I am feeling the last days of summer as the air gets cool, crisp and the leaves begin to fall to earth. The morning walks in the foothills signal change in every way possible, with the changing of the summer green grasses to autumn gold, to the absolute cool morning air that requires a light jacket or sweater.
The Earth Mother is shouting CHANGE through our annual seasonal shifting. Yet, that is not all, as we see a multitude of other signals of intense and massive change. There are too many changes to name, coming through our culture and the landscapes around the world. The aquarian age is continuing to crack the status quo and realign how we do life.
As summer intensifies, we are being reminded of great beauty and abundance all around. The healing energies of the sun, the rains and the green plants surround us, giving great sami (chi) to heal our minds, bodies and spirits.
We have just emerged from a series of three eclipses, and intense configurations in the heavens that are assuring our evolution and growth. The frequencies are changing in our bodies and environments, causing massive shift. How have you been navigating this time of death and rebirth? Have you found yourself cleaning your closets, your bodies, your homes, as well as your relationships? Most likely one of these areas has surfaced with a need to let go, shift and rebirth.
It was October 2004 when I finally honored my inner calling to more fully use my creative talents and abilities that I have had since birth. With the encouragement and assistance of my dear friend and most talented artisan Shiloh McCloud, I entered into a visualization to help me reconnect with my deep inner calling and creative juices. After only 20 or so minutes in a guided visualization, I entered my unused art studio and began painting again … after a hiatus of more than seven years. Not only did I begin painting again, but I also began using a new medium consisting of more brilliant colors than I had used before. These paints were vibrant, alive, intense pigments beyond what I had ever imagined in the past … including metallic pigments … taking my creativity to a new dimension … literally!
Did you know that Curiosity is one of the keys to healing and transformation? Are you curious in your life and about what you really can create? Or do you go along with a set of beliefs that keep you in a constant struggle or fear of change?
Einstein is a great example of someone who lived a life led by curiosity. He constantly asked questions of life and his relationship with the Divine, living life as a Divine Conversation.
If you live life with curiosity, your life will reflect and flow based on the questions you are asking.... giving you more than you expected you could receive. Your curiosity opens your imagination and the world of Spirit, or the Quantum field, to respond to you. Your curiosity creates a conversation with the Divine!

Most people are familiar with the traditional image of Father Christmas (aka Santa Claus). The 1823 poem of Major Henry Livingston Jr, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'1 crystallised this image, and countless Christmas cards reinforced it. Father Christmas appears as a rather plump, white-bearded old man, dressed in red clothing with white buttons and trimmings. Such imagery also frequently depicts him:
Prior to a recent shamanic pilgrimage to ancient, sacred lands in Mexico I sat in my studio and inwardly connected to the ancient shamans and peoples who have for centuries walked this land in ceremony and ritual. I asked for a vision and guidance to prepare me for my journey. An image (to the left) began to flow onto the canvas, and I began to feel the guidance of a great shaman. He was a Master, fully awake and filled with Light, Wisdom and Love. Though male in presentation, I experienced an androgynous sense of this Being, completely balanced in the male and female energies. He told me he is a Huichol Mera 'kame.... or shaman of the Huichol peoples. He is a teacher and is here to bring more light through his imagery and messages. He came to prepare me for my journey to Mexico. He told me I would only paint part of this painting now, and then finish the painting upon my return from the pilgrimage I was about to set off on.
